Samsung launches project PRISM
In line with the diverse needs of today’s end customers, a mounting number of home appliance makers try to offer solutions that fit users’ ever-changing preferences.Samsung Electronics also joins the trend through its Project Prism, which enables customers to personalize the materials, colors, shapes, and designs of the firm’s products including refrigerators.Earlier this week, the Seoul-based electronics giant held an event of launching the project at the Samsung Digital Plaza in the southern part of Korea’s capital city.Samsung President Kim Hyun-suk expressed the company’s commitment to putting personal tests and experiences first.“There is a growing trend across this generation, especially among millennials, that sees us valuing personal tastes and experiences foremost,” Kim said.“With Project PRISM, we are reflecting this trend, and hope that Samsung can become a prism-like medium, able to reflect each and every colorful consumer lifestyle.”Kim also talked about Samsung’s first customizable product – its latest refrigerator named BESPOKE, which is a combination of “be” and “spoke.”“Project PRISM’s philosophy is that only when truly reflecting a consumer’s lifestyle can a home appliance fit seamlessly into their lives – and BESPOKE marks the start of this process,” he said.With the new fridge, buyers can customize their own configuration of material, color, sizing, and other feature choices.A Samsung official said that the BESPOKE refrigerator is set to take home appliances to the next level and beyond their traditional spaces within the home.“Able to fit naturally into whatever home space the customer has available, the BESPOKE refrigerator comes in eight sizes including four-door freestanding, two-door BMF, one-door refrigerator, and one-door freezer,” the official said.“Customers can also choose their preferred color from a nine-strong color range that includes navy blue, mint, pink and coral.
