The two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova for the first time reached the final at the Australian Open of tennis professionals. The 28-year-old Czech won on Thursday in Melbourne 7:6 (7:2), 6:0 against the American Surprise semi-finalist Danielle Collins.

Kvitova made the success against the 25-Year-old to 1:34 hours perfectly. The number 35 of the world had switched off in the tournament history, the Top German player, Julia Görges and Angelique Kerber.

As the last Czech state-Jana Novotna in the 1991 final. The last Czech title by Hana Mandlikova is already 32 years old.

In the final this Saturday, Kvitova hits on either US Open champion Naomi Osaka of Japan, or in a Czech duel on Karolina Pliskova.
