Lee will lead Korean unit of global software giant

Blue Prism has made inroads into the South Korean market by establishing its unit here, according to the global leader in intelligent automation on Jan. 27.

Established in 2001, the UK-based company has expanded its presence by providing solutions to more than 2,000 clients in up to 170 countries across the world.

Included in its flagship products are its robotic process automation (RPA) software, which provides organizations with a digital workforce in an unprecedented way.

Highly evaluating its high performance and responsiveness to market demands, the Gartner 2020 Magic Quadrant report for RPA recognized Blue Prism as a global leader.

Headed by its new chief Lee Jun-won, Blue Prism strives to beef up its technical support for Korean customers. Lee has longer than 25 years of experience in the country’s info-tech industry.

“The most important task for us is to support Korean companies to achieve their goals for business automation based on Blue Prism’s success stories and experience around the globe, as well as in Korea,” he said.

“The competitiveness of future enterprises will change drastically depending on digital transformation and the successful introduction of AI-based intelligent automation.”

He also noted, “As automation and AI are being introduced, we will join domestic companies' automation journeys through the digital workforce, and eventually, contribute to their business innovations.”

Blue Prism Chairman and CEO Jason Kingdon also expressed great hype on the software giant’s new affiliate in Korea.

“The world’s leading enterprises are creating a seamless blend of human capital, software robots and systems to solve for the most complex of challenges, optimizing work processes, uncovering business opportunities, and improving customer experience with Blue Prism’s digital workforce,” he said.

“As the most cost-efficient, secure and scalable way to tackle the challenges we face today, our aim is to help Korean companies accelerate their digital transformation and achieve their vision for strategic business automation.”
