View count of "Blood Sweat & Tears" tops 500 million

BTS’s 2016 music video “Blood Sweat & Tears” has racked up more than 500 million views this week. The song is the title track of the K-pop megastar’s second studio album “WINGS.”

It became the eight BTS music video to top the 500 million milestone.

Among K-pop acts, BTS has the biggest number of music videos over the 500 million YouTuve views.

In fact, only two other Korean stars managed to reach the milestone – Psy and BlackPink.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, is a Korean singer and rapper. He rocked the globe with his hit single “Gangnam Style” in 2012. His music video for the song exceeded 3 billion views.

BlackPink is a four-piece girl group that debuted midway through 2016. Currently, the group is the highest-charting female K-pop act.

BTS’s “DNA” is its most-viewed music video as the view count is more than 800 million views followed by “Fake Love.” The former hit the 600 million mark while the latter approaches 600 million.

The band’s other four songs, “Dope,” “Mike Drop,” “Idol,” and “Boy With Luv” also achieved the feat.

In particular, “Boy With Luv” is expected to become the most-viewed BTS music video in the near future.

The main track of its fourth full-length album “Map of the Soul: Persona” shattered several YouTube records after its release this April.

The song gathered almost 80 million views in the first 24 hours to break the record set by BlackPink in early April.

In addition, it became the fastest music video to amass 100 million views on the popular video-sharing platform.

BTS had an extended break over the past month for the first time since its debut in 2013. Now, the seven-member idol group is back at work and prepares for its performance in Saudi Arabia next month.
