Boy band expected to return in October

It would have been a difficult decision for Big Hit Entertainment leaders to give a long break to BTS, a K-pop superstar who helps the Seoul-based label rake in profits across the world.

However, Big Hit founder Bang Si-hyuk made the difficult decision and the seven members of the boy band are now enjoying months of a vacation for the first time since their debut in 2013.

Earlier this week, Big Hit officially announced that BTS members are taking a vacation.

“We would like to announce that for the first time since their debut, BTS will be going on an official and extended period of rest and relaxation,” Big Hit noted.

“This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentlessly driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.”

Although the agency did not specify how long the vacation would be, observers expect that it would be around two months in consideration of the hip-hop band’s October schedule.

The idol group is slated to perform in Saudi Arabia on October 11.

Big Hit said that the seven members will spend their time off in different ways on their own.

“During this time, the members will rest and recharge in their own personal ways,” it said.

“Should you have a chance encounter with a member of BTS while they are on vacation, we ask that you show consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off.”
