Preparation for new game's launch will take time

The highly-anticipated game called “BTS World” will be released in June, not this month, according to a senior official of the simulation game’s maker – Netmarble.

After the Seoul-based company started pre-registration for the mobile game on May 10 at its dedicated site (https://btsw.netmarble.com/en/home), expectations were high that it will be dropped this month.

But the official said that Netmarble has to take care of many things before the global launch.

“We will make sure that we check everything in detail. Hence, it will take some time,” said the Netmarble official who asked not to be named. “We hope that the game will be a big success.”

Netmarble is also the second-largest shareholder of BigHit Entertainment, the management agency that debuted the seven-member K-pop band in 2013.

In the game, a player will become a manager of BTS in 2012. He or she will have to pick up phone calls from BTS members and arrange their schedules.

In other words, BTS World enables players to virtually interact with BTS members through a one-on-one interactive system.

The game features more than 10,000 photos and 100 story videos of the group members.

BTS came up with its fourth studio album “Map of the Soul: Persona,” midway through last month.

The seven-track album has been a big hit as it topped global albums charts and sold more than 3 million copies.

The septet also won two prizes at this year’s Billboard Music Awards and is now on a concert tour, which will feature a total of 16 shows across four continents including such famous venues as Wembley Stadium in London.
