Public-private cooperation forged for safer digital ecosystem

CJ OliveNetworks announced on Nov. 9 that it would share the results of its security consulting for 13 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on Nov. 16.

Toward that end, the Seoul-based system integrator joined forces with the state-backed Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and FindTheGap.

CJ OliveNetworks has operated a program named “CJ White Hat,” which was designed to help SMEs strengthen their security-related capabilities.

CJ OliveNetworks and KISA organized a bug bounty program with the voluntary participation of SMEs, which pay attention to their security.

A bug bounty program is a deal offered by organizations by which individuals can receive recognition and compensation for reporting bugs, including security exploits and vulnerabilities.

A total of 11 white hackers are scheduled to receive prizes next week.

“The social responsibility event is aimed at creating a safer digital ecosystem,” a CJ OliveNetworks official said.

“We will continue to expand cooperation with institutes, schools and corporations, which care about security as a part of the ESG management.”

Short for Environmental, Social, and corporate Governance, ESG is the three major factors in measuring the sustainability of a corporation or business.

Over the past few years, the initiative has won the hearts and minds of businesspeople as an essential managerial value locally and globally.
