Samsung guns for security, productivity at the same time

South Korea’s Samsung Electronics announced on Feb. 28 that it had come up with the Galaxy Book2 Business designed for users in hybrid working environments.

The Seoul-based outfit said that the new device was designed to seek security and productivity at the same time.

“We are in a new era where hybrid working is the norm,” Samsung Executive Vice President KC Choi said.

“Enterprises want to ensure their workforce can be their very best in this new environment, with technology that enables creativity, collaboration and productivity, while also protecting themselves from ever-increasing cyber threats.”

He also noted: “Galaxy Book2 Business is a PC designed for this hybrid world, empowering enterprises with defense-grade security, advanced productivity features, and connected Galaxy experiences across devices and operating systems.”

Samsung said that it had introduced the new device because cybersecurity threats had increased as remote work increased amid the virus pandemic.

“Enterprises focused on protecting employees working from home who can be more vulnerable to cyber risks but have limited access to the security tools and infrastructure available in the office,” a Samsung official said.

“Galaxy Book2 Business helps secure the new hybrid work environment using Samsung’s defense-grade security technology, Intel Hardware Shield Technology, and secure embedded processor to protect BIOS.”

Samsung Electronics is the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones, memory chips, and flat-panel displays.
