Top engineering college joins hands with brokerage

NH Investment & Securities has teamed up with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to set up a design research lab on user interface and user experience.

Toward that end, NH said on April 1 that the Seoul-based brokerage house had agreed to collaborate with KAIST, the country’s leading science and engineering college.

NH said that the research center would help the company to strengthen its competitive edge in the hard-fought competition in the brokerage business.

In fact, NH has put forth efforts to stand out in the user-interface and user-experience segment as amply demonstrated by the fact that it won the first place in the 2019 mobile app evaluation.

Headed by top KAIST professors, The research center will carry out various works over the next three years.

“To become the leading platform of managing assets, we think that we should come up with change all the time,” an NH official said.

“By cooperating with KAIST, which is the foremost research institute in the user experience, we hope that we will be able to beef up our footings as the top platform player.”

NH Securities was launched in 2006 when Sejong Securities was incorporated into the National Agricultural Cooperate Federation, otherwise known as Nonghyup.

Currently, CEO Jeong Young-chae heads the outfit, whose largest shareholder is NH Financial Group. Its stake is 76.09 percent.
