Korean institute to run exclusive booth at Hall G

Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on Jan. 3 that it would set up a dedicated booth during the Consumer Electronics Show to demonstrate its technological prowess.

In particular, the South Korean educational institute plans to demonstrate the technologies of its in-house start-ups during the tech fair, which will take place from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8 in Las Vegas.

KAIST started to set up its exclusive booth in 2019 with five start-up businesses. The outfit increased the number of start-ups to 12 in 2020 and 10 last year.

This year, a total of 12 businesses will go with KAIST, including start-ups by faculty members, alumni, and technology transfer companies.

KAIST plans to support each company’s marketing strategies along with the Korea International Trade Association in order to maximize publicity opportunities.

It will also provide an opportunity for the school and each start-up to create global identity and exhibit the excellence of their technologies at the convention.

Included in the start-ups are EntreReality, HITS, WiPowerOne, FLUIZ, Hills Robotics, IDKLAB, Jmicro, Perigee Aerospace, Havata, MoveAWheel, NDD, and Plasmapp.

“The KAIST Showcase for CES 2023 has prepared a new pitching space for each of the companies for their own IR efforts, and we hope that KAIST start-ups will actively and effectively market their products and technologies while they are at the convention,” a KAIST official said.

“We hope it will help them utilize their time here to establish their name in presence here, which will eventually serve as a good foothold for them and their predecessors to further global commercialization goals.”
