Korean ginseng company forges partnership during Gulfood 2021 in Dubai

Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC) strives to make inroads into the Middle East markets in a full-fledged manner after taking part in an international health exhibition there last month.

The Seoul-based company said on March 15 that it will provide its flagship products of red ginseng to customers of the Middle East countries.

As part of its efforts, KGC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cure Medical Supplies headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, during the Gulfood 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

The Gulfood 2021 is one of the world’s biggest food and hospitality shows. Up to 2,500 companies from 85 countries joined the annual event, including KGC.

“Red ginseng is regarded as one of the best health foods not only in Korea but also across the world. Our products have been exported to some 40 countries,” a KGC official said.

“From our outpost located in the United Arab Emirates, we will wade into the Middle East markets in full swing. On top of offline stores, we will also launch an online shopping mall for the region.”

The dedicated online shopping mall is at www.kgcuae.com.

Various scientific studies found that red ginseng is effective in strengthening the immune system, which is also recognized by the country’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

In particular, its popularity went up last year as health-conscious people tried to find immunity-boosting foods to better fight against the novel coronavirus.

The International Vaccine Institute signed an MOU with KGC to cooperate in developing drugs improving immunity last year.
