Morocco invites diplomats to its events in Korea

The Throne Celebration in Morocco is a national occasion celebrated on July 30 of each year, punctuated by several official and popular celebrations. It commemorates the day of the King’s accession to the throne.

The first celebration was held in 1933 to recognize the accession of Mohammed V of Morocco in 1927. The current King Mohammed VI succeeded his father on July 23, 1999, and officially took the throne on July 30.

On the occasion, several nationwide events are covered on public television, including official activities.

In Seoul as well, Moroccan Amb. Chafik RACHADI threw a dinner diplomatic reception at his residence late last month while envoys from the Middle East region showed up.

Included in the participants were Lebanon Amb. Antoine AZZAM, Angola Amb. Edgar Augusto Brandão Gaspar MARTINS, South African Amb. Zenani N. DLAMINI, Israel Amb. Akiva J. TOR, Saudi Amb. Sami M. ALSADHAN, Qatar Amb. Khalid Ebrahim AL-HAMAR, Tanzania Amb. Togolani Edriss MAVURA, Algeria Amb. Mohammed BENSABRI, and Egypt Amb. Khaled Abdel Rahman.

Today’s celebration by the Moroccan people of the 24th anniversary of the enthronement of HM King Mohammed VI is an opportunity for all the components of the Nation to reiterate their fidelity, loyalty, and unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alawite Throne, according to RACHADI.

As a guest honor, KOIMA President Kim Byung-kwan advised for Moroccan side to utilize its organization as a platform to enter the Korean market.

Regarding Royal activities, His Majesty King Mohammed VI was accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid to chair a reception on Sunday afternoon at the M’diq-Fnideq prefecture square (city of M’diq), on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the throne of His glorious ancestors, according to foreign media.
