Pakistan Amb. Nabeel Munir celebrated the country’s 2024 National Day in Seoul late last week. He noted that Pakistan’s worldview is rooted in friendship, goodwill, and a commitment to international peace and prosperity.

Talking about special ties with South Korea, Amb. Munir addressed in front of over 300 guests that the two countries’ relationship had blossomed into a partnership.

The 41-year-old diplomatic ties are based on respect, cordiality, and mutual interest, ranging from socio-economic development to trade and investment, defense cooperation, and cultural exchange, according to him.

On Pakistan Day, which fell on March 23, Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that he was completely cognizant of the serious challenges confronting Pakistan.

Included in them were inflation, unemployment, circular debt, fiscal/trade deficit, and the growing scourge of terrorism.

“I can assure you that we stand committed to putting Pakistan on the path to economic recovery and prosperity with a cogent policy reform framework,” he added.

Separately, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari said through his message, “In the spirit of Pakistan Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to democracy, justice, and equality.”

“I urge each one of you to participate in the nation-building process actively, embracing the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Together, united, we shall overcome obstacles and chart a course towards a better and brighter future for our beloved Pakistan,” he noted.

Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority is all set to organize Pakistan’s first International Expo on Disaster Risk Reduction, to kick off on April 23.

Promising to be immersive experiences for stakeholders worldwide with participation from 43 countries, the Expo aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange to build safer and more resilient societies in the face of global disasters, according to Pakistan.

As recent activities of the Pakistan Embassy in Seoul, the Embassy held a Khuli Kachehri in Incheon on Feb. 19 along with the Pakistan Business Association.

Amb. Munir updated the Pakistani diaspora on recent initiatives, heard their suggestions, and addressed their concerns.
