Top-tier brokerage house supports 15 students in 2020

NH Investment & Securities said on February 18 that the brokerage house held an event of offering scholarships to a total of 15 students across the country.

The Seoul-based outfit said that the 15 students will receive 2 million won, respectively.

NH started to provide scholarships to outstanding students from underprivileged households in 2005. Over the past 15 years, the company has supported 582 students.

In particular, the firm has picked the recipients of the scholarship programs in just rural areas since 2017.

NH Executive Vice President Lee Kang-shin said that the entity will continue to put forth efforts to help those in need.

“Priming water is a small amount of water, which draws up a lot of water. We hope to be a sort of priming water for our society,” Lee said.

“And we hope that our corporate social responsibility programs will work as priming water to help bring about a warm social atmosphere.”

NH Investment was launched in 2006 when Sejong Securities was incorporated into the National Agricultural Cooperate Federation, otherwise known as Nonghyup.

Currently, CEO Jeong Young-chae heads the outfit, whose largest shareholder is NH Financial Group. Its stake is 76.09 percent.
