Korean outfit offers beta services midway through Dec.

Popsline, a South Korean company specializing in extended reality (XR), announced on Dec. 8 that it had developed a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace dubbed Metaversero.

The Seoul-based outfit said that the new platform is designed to focus on global services and XR technology so as to enable collaboration projects connecting artists and companies.

NFT is an emerging technology, which has gained attention across the world after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s first tweet as an NFT sold at almost $3 million earlier this year.

In an attempt to represent ownership rights of unique items, a variety of segments are embracing the new technology, including digital art, sports, and game.

Popsline plans to allow people to check the viability of Metaversero by offering beta services during the K-Metaverse Expo 2021 at COEX between Dec. 16-18.

One of its first Metaversero content is based on the artwork of painter Lee Duri, who has drawn Arowana. The freshwater bony fish, which has been loved by Chinese, will be targets of NTF.

Popsline said that it had rich experiences in XR and other futuristic approaches _ the Seoul government picked the company to test technology related to augmented reality content in 2020.

As a result, the company is now providing both face-to-face and non-face-to-face content based on XR to such exhibition facilities as the Whanki Museum and Sabina Museum.

The entity is also operating Gallery XR in southern Seoul, which is geared toward connecting online and offline content along with more than 80 artists.
