A few days after unveiling its flagship products, Samsung Electronics introduced two budget phones _ the Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50 during MWC Barcelona on Feb. 25, 2019.
The Seoul-based company said that the new Galaxy A Series are equipped with improved cameras and other features to offer “an immersive viewing experience and longer lasting performances.”
In particular, the tech giant said that the Galaxy A50 is powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
“AI Camera helps you capture the best scene, with a Scene Optimizer feature to recognize and optimize 20 scenes, and Flaw Detection to make sure you never miss a perfect portrait shot,” Samsung said in a statement.
“Bixby Vision uses the camera and AI to help you shop online, translate text and find the information you need.”
Bixby refers to a virtual assistant of Samsung.
The Galaxy A50 has triple camera, which Samsung claimed is designed to accurately replicate human eyesight.
“The 25MP main camera shoots vivid images in bright daylight. While in darkness, the innovative lens enables clear shots by detecting more light and reducing noise,” it said.
The Galaxy A30 also comes with advanced camera features such as a dual camera including an Ultra Wide-angle lens.
Samsung’s mobile chief Koh Dong-jin said that the two models are geared toward meeting new needs of end users.
“We are committed to providing meaningful progress to everyone for a better mobile experience, and that innovation starts with upgraded Galaxy A Series,” he said.
“People are changing the way they connect, and their smartphones need to keep up. Our new Galaxy A Series offers improvements to the essential features that will support these live interactions, with diverse options to meet their ever-changing needs.”
The two models are expected to hit the global market midway through next month. Their prices have yet to be disclosed.
During the “Unpacked event” in San Francisco last week, Samsung unveiled its flagship model of the Galaxy S10 and its first foldable phone of the Galaxy Fold.
