Joint venture recognized by Gyeonggi Province Assembly

Shinsegae Simon, which runs four outlet stores across South Korea, was recognized for its contribution to the regional society by the Gyeonggi Province Assembly.

Shinsegae Simon said on February 3 that the Gyeonggi assembly honored the company for its work for underpinning the economy of the province, which surrounds Seoul.

The assembly said that Shinsegae Simon has created many jobs at its three premium outlets at Yeoju, Paju, and Siheung in Gyeonggi Province.

The company has also carried out various programs to support youth and merchants working there, according to the assembly.

Shinsegae Simon, a joint venture between Shinsegae Group and Simon Property Group, also operates an outlet in the southeastern port city Busan.

Shinsegae is the country’s retail giant, while Simon is the largest commercial real estate company in the United States.

“Premium outlets of Shinsegae Simon has put forth efforts for a win-win partnership with the regional community,” Shinsegae Simon CEO Cho Chang-hyun said.

“We will continue to cooperate with regional society down the road.”
