Top premium outlet starts 'Grand Shopping Vacation'

Shinsegae Simon has launched a summer event, dubbed “Grand Shopping Vacation” on July 17 to offer various benefits to its customers over the next two weeks.

The Seoul-based outfit said that the half-month event, which will continue through July 30, will take place at its four premium outlets.

Such famous brands as DKNY, SJSJ, Lanvin, and Lebeige will offer a maximum of 20 percent discounts. Nike products would be available at up to 30 percent of its price tags.

The company’s four outlets are also carrying out separate promotional events.

To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, Shinsegae Simon said that the outlets had beefed up quarantine efforts.

South Korea has been dubbed as a model country in dealing with COVID-19 as it has managed to bring the deadly virus pandemic under control.

In the mid-2000s, South Korea’s leading retail conglomerate Shinsegae Group joined hands with Simon Property Group, the top-tier real estate company in the United States, to found Shinsegae Simon.

The joint venture, which is headed by CEO Cho Chang-hyun, opened its first outlet in Yeoju near Seoul in 2007. It also embarked on two outlets in Paju and Siheung in 2011 and 2017, apiece.

Its Busan outlet came to town in 2013. The region is the country’s second-largest city situated in its southeastern area.
