K-pop band finishes Chicago concert

K-pop megastar BTS performed two sold-out concerts in Chicago last weekends, the second venue of its “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” world tour after Los Angeles early this month.

After the event, members of the septet thanked fans who braved the wind and rain to join the tour, which is a follow-up to the release of the band’s latest album “Map of the Soul: Persona.”

Thank you for staying and cheering for us even though it was so cold,” they wrote at Twitter.

I think I’ll remember Chicago ARMY always. I love you guys, and I’ll come back next time! Make sure to drink hot water and take a hot bath before you sleep. Good night ARMY!”

Short for Adorable Representative MC for Youth, ARMY refers to very loyal BTS fans, who are based across the world.

In addition, each member posted videos to communicate with fans in Korean. And RM, the group’s only fluent English speaker, came up with a message both in Korean and English.

Looking very tired, the leader of the band expressed his gratitude to Chicago fans in a minute-long video clip. RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, uses the stage name that is brief for his moniker Rap Monster.

I just want to say thank you to all of LA and Chicago ARMYs that have attended our concerts,” he said.

Today was quite special because it was like raining for the whole day – the whole night – so thank you for bearing the weather and showing us love.”

BTS, otherwise known as the Bangtan Boys, will continue its concert tour, which will feature a total of 16 shows across four continents including Wembley Stadium in London.
