Hyundai’s compact SUV stays atop the table
An increasing number of families appear to love compact sports utility vehicles. And Hyundai Motor cruises well in the segment with its award-winning Hyundai Tucson.
The Seoul-based company said on June 24 that readers of Germany’s “Bild and Sonntag” had voted Hyundai Tucson the most family-friendly import car 2019.
This marks the second time that the popular German newspaper recognized the model for its family friendliness. Toward that end, the Hyundai Tucson beat 16 international competitors.
The editorial team of the media outlet made its readers select five candidates for the final round. Five families of its readers assessed them after extensive test drives to pick the final winner.
The newspaper’s editor-in-chief Tom Drechsler said that the Hyundai Tucson was second to none in the evaluation, which includes such categories as everyday use, quality, comfort, price-performance ratio, and driving pleasure.
“The Hyundai Tucson has convinced ‘Bild am Sonntag’ readers of its space-saving, variability, driving safety and mobile phone integration features,” he said.
“Among the finalists, the Tucson was also the only one to offer a five-year warranty. In the end, the test families selected the SUV from South Korea as the most family-friendly import car of 2019. Congratulations!”
Hyundai Motor Director Hogler Muller said that the award proves Hyundai’s efforts to offer customized vehicles.
“We are very happy about the award for the Hyundai Tucson by ‘Bild am Sontag’. It confirms the portion of Hyundai’s DNA that is crucial to us: Developing and offering tailor-made vehicles according to the customer’s wishes. Family suitability is a decisive factor here,” he said.
