Nguyen Vu Tung discusses Korea-Vietnam cooperation with KFCC chief

Nguyen Vu Tung, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Seoul, paid a visit to the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC) on March 11 to discuss the potential cooperation of the two countries.

Since his inauguration last August, Nguyen Vu Tung has played a pivotal role in encouraging brisk collaboration between Vietnam and South Korea.

The March 11 visit to the KFCC was aimed at beefing up the two-way alliance between the KFCC and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA).

The KFCC is the leading apex organization for Korea’s cooperative banking sector, while the VCA is its Vietnamese counterpart.

Last year, the two outfits struck an agreement of building a bilateral partnership and co-developing human resources.

“Vietnam is one of the four biggest trade partners of South Korea. I hope that the two countries will be able to chalk up shared growth through joining hands in the cooperative banking segment,” KFCC Chairman Park Cha-hoon said.

Led by Chairman Park, the KFCC represents up to 1,300 financial cooperatives across the country with a customer base of bigger than 20 million people.
