Legendary investor refuses to use iPhone

What is the smartphone of legendary investor Warren Buffett, one of the world’s richest men? There is no correct answer for the question because he does not use any smartphone at all.

In a recent interview with CNBC, Buffet showed his retro flip phone made by Samsung Electronics, code-named the SCH-U320 and was launched in 2010.

The SCH-U320 is a low-end handset. With a small 2.2-inch display, it has no cameras and packs a battery with poor capacity. Its original price tag was more than $260 and is now selling for less than $30 online.

“Here’s my phone, incidentally. Alexander Graham Bell lent it to me and I forgot to return it,” he joked.

Buffett said that Apple CEO Tim Cook keeps encouraging him to buy an iPhone.

“Tim Cook sent me a Christmas card again this year saying he’s going to sell me an iPhone this year,” he said in early 2018. “He keeps sending me these reminders every Christmas.”

Back then, he joked that the market for Apple’s iPhone is not saturated as amply demonstrated by a notable holdout like himself.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has iterated that he would fly to Buffett’s place to help the 88-year-old set a new iPhone up.

In fact, Buffett has something to do with Apple. His company of Berkshire Hathaway is the fifth-largest shareholder of the U.S. tech giant with a 5.5 percent stake.

They are worth almost $50 billion. Buffett said that he had never sold a single share since first buying in 2016.

Although the billionaire does not use an iPhone, he said that he does use an iPad to check stock prices and do research.

According to Wikipedia, Buffett has a net worth of $82.5 billion as of March 2019, making him the third-wealthiest person in the world. Only two American business magnates of Amazon founder Zeff Bezos and Microsoft founder Bill Gates were richer than him.
